In compliance with O.C.G.A. 44-12-236 of the Disposition of Unclaimed Property Act, Oconee EMC is attempting to locate former members whose unclaimed capital credit checks were issued in 2020 but have been returned by the U.S. Post Office as “undeliverable,” or have otherwise been unclaimed.
Persons may view the unclaimed list at our headquarters in Dudley from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The last possible date to claim these refunds is August 31, 2026. If not claimed by this date, they will be donated for approved uses, as permitted by O.C.G.A. 44-12-236.
Likewise, Oconee EMC is attempting to locate former members whose billing refund checks were issued in 2021 but have been returned by the U.S. Post Office as “undeliverable,” or have otherwise been unclaimed.
The last possible date to claim these refunds is August 31, 2026. If not claimed by this date, they will be turned over to the State of Georgia.
